San Francisco Quests: 1 Get Vertibirdplans for BoS Reward: Quite some stuff down the BoS base + 20000 XP Talk to the local BoS Trooper and you'll finally get some answers from him. For details concerning the plans' acquisition see the Navarro paragraph. 2. Defeat LoPan HtH for the Dragon Reward: 8000 XP Entering San Francisco you'll watch a short brawl. The Dragon pummels his rival LoPan. Visit either of the two combatants and offer your services in unarmed combat. The Dragon is the "good guy" so he is probably the better choice. First you'll have to prove that your worthy by defeating five of his pupils. As always in HtH combat, aim for the head, to knock them out, or try to cripple a foot (remember they'll only be able to walk two hexes so you can easily evade them) After passing the test go to LoPan and challenge him to HtH combat. Beware for he'll use a gun near the end, but that won't save him from the wrath of the Chosen One, will it? After defeating him, visit the dragon once more for the rest of the XP. 3. Get Chip's spleen back Reward: some XP plus the tanker vagrant's aid First of all visit chip at the tanker north of town. He is quite sick which is not surprising because he lost his spleen in a gambling event. He tells you, that he lost it to Lao Chou, the merchant at the entrance of town. Lao Chou sends you to Doc. Wong at the Shi palace to the east. Convince the doctor to give it back to Chip. Then visit the local doctor, just east of Lao Chou's, his name is Fung. Get him to place the Spleen back were it belongs. Finally go to Chip and tell him that all is in readiness. Wait for two days (leave town) and then Chip will be back. 4. Save Badger's girlfriend Reward: 5000 XP and help from the tanker vagrants Badger, on the ground flour of the tanker, can help you to get the captain to help you get to the enclave. Climb down the ladder and wipe out all of the critters. Badger's girlfriend is located in the upper right corner. Just take her back to the ladder leading back up. 5. Quests to get the tanker up and running Reward: XP + passage to the enclave - Get the Fob from Navarro - Take the Nav. Comp. Parts from Vault 13 and repair the navigation computer with them. You may want to leave your companions outside the tanker because there is little room near the computer and they tend to block your way out. - Fuel the tanker. You can get fuel from either the Shi or the Hubologists. Either way you'll need to hack into a computer and then distribute the fuel. 6. Get the Vertibirdplans to the Shi Reward: XP Just give the plans to the shi leaders and that's that. 7. Kill AHS-9 Reward: XP The shi ask you to assassinate the leader of the Hubologists. When you visit the Hubologists to upgrade your power armour (see misc. Paragraph) you can wreak some serious havoc. Miscellaneous: - The computer in the BoS Base can give you some status upgrades if you bring him the proper memory modules. There are also some decent firearms in the lockers. - If you tell the Hubologists, that you might want to join them they'll let you into their base. While there have the local tech (near the mainframe) upgrade two suits of power armour (BoS) by either paying him or (if you're good at speech) blackmail him. Don't go there unless you have the two suits and the quest to kill AHS-9 because the Hubologists will only let you in once or twice. - Visit the Weapons store east of doc Fung's. There you may find great stuff like the 2mm EC ammo or the Vindicator minigun. Be sure to check the shelves in both the general and weapons store, because there are two different sets of items for sale. Tesla Armour and Power Armour, as well as a Gattling Laser should be available in the weapon shop. - Guess who is lying down in the basement of the tanker? It's "Ed, Ed's dead" from Fallout 1 who appears twice in Fallout 2 - Matt (BoS) will disappear shortly after you retrieve the vertibirdplans. Have the computer play the recording to find out what happened. - The guards in the Shi palace carry Gauss Rifles and the fitting ammo. If you feel up to the task steal the ammo.
